WILLEMSTAD, CW / ACCESS Newswire / March 17, 2026 / Legendary Brazilian footballer Ronaldinho Gaúcho, a FIFA World Cup champion with Brazil and Ballon d'Or winner, will headline the Legends Football Tournament 2026-an international tournament that will bring together some of the most iconic figures in South American and global football. Known worldwide as "O Bruxo" ("The Wizard"), Ronaldinho joins a constellation of sports legends who defined generations and were part of some of the most memorable moments in international football.
The fourth edition of the tournament will take place on April 9 and 10, 2026, bringing together former international players who will return to the field to compete in a series of matches between national teams of legends. The event has established itself as one of the most prominent international legends football tournaments and, in this edition, will expand its format with the participation of eight national teams.
Among the confirmed players are several names who left a lasting mark on South American football and are still remembered by millions of fans. Ronaldinho will lead the Brazilian team alongside other iconic figures such as Rivaldo and Lúcio. Representing Colombia will be two of the most celebrated players in the country's history, Carlos "El Pibe" Valderrama and Faustino Asprilla, while Argentina will be represented by historic standouts such as Ariel Ortega and Rolando Schiavi.
They will be joined by prominent figures from European football, including Wesley Sneijder and Clarence Seedorf for the Netherlands; Ricardo Quaresma and Vítor Baía for Portugal; Fernando Morientes and Michel Salgado for Spain; and Italian World Cup champions Marco Materazzi and Alessandro Nesta. The host team from Curaçao will also feature well-known local talents such as Stallone Isenia, Ranties "Terry" Rosina, and Ludjino "Jin" Hojer.
The tournament will be played in a dynamic five-a-side format, with each match consisting of two 15-minute halves, promising fast-paced and highly entertaining games. Tickets for the event are already available. Adult tickets cost XCG 75 per night, approximately USD 42, while tickets for children up to 15 years old cost XCG 50 per day, about USD 28. Combined passes for both days will also be available for XCG 125 for adults (around USD 70) and XCG 80 for children (approximately USD 45). For those seeking a more exclusive experience, VIP options will be available for XCG 250 per day, about USD 140, or XCG 475 for a two-day combined pass, equivalent to approximately USD 265.
